The members of the HKSDF chose from amongst themselves the Chairperson, Vice-Chair and Executive Committee (ExCo) members. The Executive Committee may also, from time to time, invite adhoc members to join the Executive Committee.
Only Ordinary and Honorary members of the HKSDF have the opportunity to be elected members of the Executive Committee (for details of categories of membership please refer to MEMBERSHIP section of this website). The Executive Committee is entitled to fill any vacancy it may have in its membership between Annual General Meetings of all the HKSDF members.
The Executive Committee is responsible for the day to day running of the HKSDF and meets
typically once a month. The supreme authority of the HKSDF is vested in the General Meeting of
members which is held on a date fixed by the Executive Committee in April of each year
(the Annual General Meeting).
Minutes of the Executive Committee meetings are kept and open to all
HKSDF members and the public free of charge.
All Executive Committee members serve without compensation.
